We’re Having a Baby!

I can finally share why I’ve been MIA for the last month…I’m pregnant!!!

We are due in March 2020, and I’m about 4 months (17 weeks) along already. The baby is literally a souvenir from Italy, a planned one even though we thought it would take a few months since everything said that would be the average to conceive. But nope, it took us the first try. That was the end of my aperol spritz patio season after we returned and found out mid-July. And boy was it hard to hide the fact I was pregnant when going out with friends and not drinking… surprised not everyone caught on so quickly.

I do want to mention that last year I stopped taking my birth control, one reason was to have a break after like 15 years being on it, and two, to prep my body for having a baby later on… I would highly suggest giving yourself a few months off birth control to let your body get sorted out again.

Ok back to it… After missing a period and feeling meh, I took the at-home pregnancy test, and I told Curtis I was pregnant and he had the biggest smile I’ve ever seen on his face. He just radiated with happiness looking at the stick. If you know Curtis, he’s normally a pretty low key guy and it was a lot of emotion pouring out. He’s never pushed having kids, mainly because he didn’t want me to do something I didn’t want to do. He always said he was fine either way, we could always rescue a lot of dogs but that look on his face told a different story haha. If I let him tell everyone then and there he would have told EVERYONE right away.

Curtis and I are both excited about this and can’t wait for the little bambino to arrive next spring. That means we will have a summer baby we can take to the pool and dress up in cute summer clothes! And also means I have the winter to be pregnant, it will be cold but not humid, hot and uncomfortable AF.

Lastly, so far my pregnancy has been pretty easy. I did have a month solid of nausea and all that but now I’m feeling more energetic even though a little tired each day and do still have off days of nausea but I can look at a screen without feeling like shit.. hallelujah!

Will be sharing another update soon on here! I wanted to share the big news and you can see our announcement on Instagram here. Get ready for more bump photos the more we grow πŸ™‚
