We had a great weekend; the weather was great, ate delicious food and spent time at the beach. Friday we grabbed coffee and sat on the seawall at Olympic Village. It was relaxing start to our weekend. Afterwards we walked up the street to Tractor Foods and enjoyed a healthy dinner and shared their delicious strawberry basil lemonade! I could drink gallons of that each day. Then we watched the film Chappie, such a good movie, I felt so bad for the robot Chappie.
Saturday I started my day at barre class, I love getting this class in before the rest of my day. I feel energized and already accomplished something before noon. Then we packed up our beach stuff and took the dog to the beach for my sister’s BBQ. The tide was out, the water was warm and it was hot! It was a busy day there since the Folk Music Festival was on at the other end of the beach. The parking situation was similar to the Hunger Games and eventually we got a spot. Piper enjoyed himself, made a few baby friends and waded in the ocean.
We finished our Saturday off with Mexican food at Topanga Café. I enjoyed a couple of margaritas and the flautas platter while Curtis tried to finish the gigantic burrito! That could feed a family of four!
Sunday we slept in till 9! I feel old! Then we decided to go for brunch in Chinatown, I’ve wanted to try out Mamie Taylor’s brunch. They did not disappoint! It was comforting and delicious, the service was friendly and I just love the interior décor there. Can’t wait to go back and try dinner and drinks. We walked around the neighbourhood and checked out some new spaces that have opened and to be opened. Then took a drive around the neighbourhood and window shopped houses. In the early evening, we took our bikes around for a ride along the seawall towards Science World. The sunset was amazing as usual lately and the weather was perfect.
What did you get up to this past weekend? Today is my mom’s birthday and I will be making grilled shrimp tacos with a garlic slaw and Mexican street corn! Hopefully it tastes as good as it sounds 🙂
