Hi everyone,
It’s back to the grind today after a nice long weekend here in Vancouver. Curtis and I had a busy one, starting off with some home renovations on Friday night and cuddling with Piper.
Saturday was spent continuing with the home renos, an afternoon barre class, taking a break for dinner and grabbing some street food from The Reef Runner and ice cream at Rain or Shine.
Sunday we went down to Chuckanut Drive in Washington for the day. It’s an old stretch of road that was part of the Pacific Coast Highway in 1913 among its history. We enjoy going down once in a while and stopping in Edison to grab a bite at Mariposa. That is worth the drive alone! Meandering along the old, country roads is fun and exploring small towns can result in something exciting. This time we drove along to La Conner, Anacortes and Oak Harbour, passing through Deception Pass Bridge and eating at the Shrimp Shack. It’s such a great day trip from Vancouver, and I will write a post on it. There are many delicious places to stop and eat, antique shopping, kitchy towns and gorgeous scenes from nature.
We arrived back home at a decent time Sunday evening and made a few cocktails and sat down to watch the Mad Men series finale. It was bittersweet to say the least.
Monday was spent finishing up the majority of the renos, making yummy sandwiches and grabbing gelato and iced mochas at Continental Coffee on Main Street.
I’m glad that this week will be a short work week, even though I’m busy at work, I still cannot wait for the weekend again! Especially if it will be sunny and hot out!
