Weekend Recap

Hi everyone,

We had a great weekend, Curtis and I spent time with family, friends and the beautiful outdoors. Friday started off with us visiting Park Royal and I ended up purchasing a few professional clothing items from Ann Taylor Loft that are versatile for work and for evenings.

Afterwards we met up with friends at the Hotel Georgia. We originally attempted to get into the new Prohibition bar but there was quite the lineup on the street and settled for drinks in the hotel lounge.

The cocktails were great and the atmosphere was relaxing in the lounge, I was pleasantly surprised. I also had a celebrity spotting with two tables down from us, Julia Stiles! She looks the same just a tad older than when she appeared in Save the Last Dance. (Sorry not the greatest picture!)

Saturday we had brunch with my sister at Nook in Kitsilano. I had their special breakfast sandwich of fried egg, avocado, arugula, bacon on ciabatta bread! YUM. My sister ordered the pork meatballs with eggs and polenta and Curtis also had the sandwich.

With it being such a nice day out, we took Piper the dog beach at Hadden Park, near Kits Beach. It was especially busy with every Tom, Dick, and Harry bringing their dogs on this nice day. Piper made a few doggy friends and reveled in having his paws in the soft sand. I had to take some pictures for school; as a result we drove over to Lynn Canyon Park. I have not visited that park for years and had forgotten how pretty it is. Curtis and I took turns carrying Piper around and explored a bit while the sun was still present. There were also selfies involved, Curtis and Piper and tourists haha. With it being Valentine’s Day we were going to head home and eat pasta and watch movies. My brother and his girlfriend ultimately joined us for spaghetti before heading out to a concert. It was nice having some company for a bit.

Sunday we drove up to Squamish for further homework. I had to take pictures of the fluvial river landform (exciting stuff). It was thankfully another gorgeous day, not a cloud in the sky! We walked along the river which Piper enjoyed immensely and grabbed a bite to eat in the town. Later that night we watched SNL40 with my dad and ate delicious leftovers at my parents.

I am still enjoying the sunny skies and fairly warm weather in Vancouver this week. Hope everyone else is staying warm!
