Weekend (or so) Recap

This post is a little late, I had a busy day at work and came home with a headache. Great start (insert eye roll here)! Last weekend was the last long weekend of summer, which always means a mass exodus out of the city. This leaves the city empty for us locals that stay in.

We started out our weekend by shopping downtown and eating dinner at Nicli Pizzeria. It’s always hard to get in and we did! Victory! I ordered the special pizza which was a red pepper sauce, baby artichokes, chili oil, salami with fior de latte mozzarella. Delish!

Afterwards, we grabbed drinks at Six Acres. This little pub reminds me of the cozy brown bars in Amsterdam.

Saturday we hit the road to Buntzen Lake with Piper. It’s really pretty out there and includes a short scenic drive from the city. Piper really enjoyed the change of scenery and made new friends.

Later that night we hit up the PNE Fair with friends. I haven’t been there for a few years and it closed Monday. We ate some food, visited the cute animals and people watched. The best people watching all summer was at the PNE!

Sunday we went for dim sum with my brother in Kerrisdale. They serve it Hong Kong style in carts which I adore! It’s almost a sport grabbing their attention and picking things quickly. There were a few items we had no idea what we picked and were disappointed. I will return though and will pick wisely next time.

Curtis began feeling pretty crappy Sunday and ended the day in bed with the flu. So Sunday night we just ended up watching Elite Squad and You’re the Worst on Netflix.

Monday I joined my parents at the dog park with their puppy Oscar and Piper. How cute is Oscar!
