I’ve been relaxing the past two days since returning from Portland and Thanksgiving on Monday. We had a great time in the city, weather was relatively nice and I had a fantastic experience at The Hello Sessions. The women that attended were all supportive and friendly; I came home making new friends, all who are after the same goals. It is a great community that has evolved with this conference.
Joy and Melissa brought together great keynote speakers and workshop leaders. The brands that sponsored the conference were a perfect fit and Schoolhouse Electric hosted a wonderful cocktail party. I would buy everything in that store if I had the budget!
Tiffany Han, the keynote speaker on Friday morning, was amazing. She really resonated with me, I was almost crying in my seat. What she was saying to everyone was what I was feeling inside. By the end I was motivated and ready to take on the day! All my fears I was holding inside were pushed aside and I kept her points in my head. A few that stuck out to me were Tell your story and let us see you, Get scrappy and When in doubt, what would Kanye do?
I took three workshops with bloggers I admire and follow. Food Styling with Molly Yeh, Building your brand on Instagram with Rachel Smith from The Crafted Life and Alexandra Hedin‘s The Business of Blogging. I left each workshop full of ideas and lessons to put towards my blog.
Joy and Melissa plan on having this conference next year again. I will be attending and I recommend anyone that can make it to attend as well. It was so much fun and Portland is a great city to hold it in.
I’ll post about our time in Portland next week that included drinks, tons of eats and the weirdness of the city.
I had never heard of this until you wrote about it — sounds like it was amazing!! xo
