Well we are now a week into the month of June. Summer is approaching, even though we just had a nice stretch of summer weather. I have a few things I want to accomplish this season, including food, drinking, travel and projects. Which is why I’m sharing this year’s summer bucket list!

Bucket lists to me are a way to re-evaluate the year, and plan some adventureΒ for theΒ warm days to come. Have you tried making one before? I love to do one for the summer, mostly because it keeps me in check and reminds me to enjoy the season because it goes by way too fast!

I hope we have amazing weather, mostly for drinks on the patio, but also so we spend a lot of time outdoors. I’m not a hiking or outdoorsy type of person, but I do love bike rides, summer beach days and being able to walk around the city without an umbrella!

You can see 2016 and 2015 bucket lists. I am proud to say I checked off about 95% of last year’s list. Minus us going to yoga and Italian lessons. With this year’s summer bucket list, I’ve already made the motions on checking off a few before it even starts. Excited!

What are your plans? Any big trips or milestones coming up?

Summer Bucket List 2017

  1. Weekend road trips around the province or across the border. – Already have one trip booked!
  2. Drink rosΓ© everyday. This is a repeat of last year and it’s starting to become a tradition. Also, I’m going to be honest, in reality it’s not everyday, but pretty close.
  3. Make amazing batches of ice cream
  4. TacosΒ to be eaten weekly, hello Taco Tuesdays!
  5. Play tennis at the local courts
  6. Enjoy our newlywed summer. Date nights mid-week, spontaneous cocktails at home etc. It’s important to carve out time for your partner and break up the mundane work week.
  7. Read a book per week. I’m hoping to carry this onwards all year. It’s something I used to do and then I keep forgetting to make time for. Reading a book in a day or even two used to be my average, but where do I find the time?!
  8. Pick wild blackberries and make a pie, cobbler, ice cream…
  9. Start going back to Yoga with Curtis – I am doing this, I swear!
  10. Learn ItalianΒ – already checked out start times!
  11. Launch a side business.Β  – More on that later! To me, this isΒ aΒ fun endeavourΒ and will be rewarding πŸ™‚
  12. Picnics every weekend

This is a great summer bucket list! I love having the summer’s off because my husband and I always get to enjoy more spontaneous day dates! As a teacher I never get to go out to lunch during the week days and that is one of my favorite summer treats!

    1. Leslie says:

that and a matinee! Have a fun summer!
