Let’s talk about SKINCARE! I always look forward to my skincare routine, morning and night. Especially in this Spring transition period when my skin tends to freak out with the change of weather. So my skincare routine becomes ALL ABOUT exfoliation plus hydration and the best way to do that is use great products. Today I’m highlighting eight skincare products that leave my skin smooth, soft, and glowy.
You can see this month’s current favourite makeup products, so many goodies in there! And I still love these cleansers (will have an updated list soon with a couple newbies included), but I get to try so many skincare products, so naturally I will always be rotating my favourites.
Being in my early 30s, skincare has become very important to me. I’ve been obsessed actually since I was twelve flipping through magazines, reading about sunscreen, retinol and anti-aging. So much so, I was the one friend who had a routine back then, that involved eye cream, makeup removers, exfoliation and sunscreen. Because let me tell you, most of my friend wouldn’t even wash their makeup off, or wear sunscreen. I feel like nowadays more teens are aware of skincare and take more interest in it. Anyone else think this?
Don’t forget to share your current skincare favourites in the comments! I’m always wondering what other people use, and their honest opinions.
I love this serum, it keeps my skin hydrated and doesn’t dry tacky if that makes sense. I can see why it’s a cult fav, I’m a total convert now. It has both Hyaluronic Acid + Vitamin B5 to repair and plump the look of skin by replenishing skin’s natural moisture barrier. I like that it’s paraben-free, oil-free, and dermatologist tested.
If you have been following my skincare Instagram stories, you know I’ve been going to a local skincare clinic and getting treatments like microneedling and chemical peels. They recommended this product to help with my discoloration and skin texture. I’ve been using Skinceuticals products for years and years. Yes they are pricey, but they work so well. I would restock this once mine’s empty.
How it works: 2% phloretin neutralizes damaging free radicals, improves cell turnover and lightens signs of discoloration. 10% L-ascorbic acid protects your skin from oxidative stress while providing visible anti-aging benefits. 0.5% Ferulic acid enhances the antioxidant benefits of phloretin and vitamin C.
I like the texture of this eye concentrate, it’s a serum essentially that helps with anti-aginig around your delicate eye area. I’m a sucker for anything from Fresh, they make the loveliest products.
Why it’s different: A proprietary black tea complex proven to help inhibit damaging free radicals and improve elasticity is further optimized by antioxidant-rich noni fruit juice, known to retain and increase moisture and protect the skin.
This is my second tube of the moisturizing sorbet. It’s hydrating but not a heavy consistency. Also I love a tube packaging for travel, just fits nicer in your case. I also have the Vinoperfect Serum and absolutely love it. It’s a lightweight natural gel-cream that has hydrating organic grape water, calming chamomile, and antioxidant-rich grape seed polyphenols to replenish moisture and soothe even the most sensitive skin.
This product is also vegan, non-toxic, cruelty-free, noncomedogenic, hypoallergenic, safe for sensitive skin and pregnancy, and free of all fillers, gluten, GMOs, and synthetic chemicals.
OK, besides Skinceuticals CF Ferulic, this is my other favourite Vitamin C serum. My first Drunk Elephant product I purchased too. I use this daily in the morning. It’s a nice texture, the packaging is great, looks nice on your shelf and has made a big difference to my skin.
C-Firma consists of 15 percent l-ascorbic acid, one-half percent ferulic acid, and one percent vitamin E, and other formula-supportive enzymes that help neutralize pollution, environmental stressors, and the damaging effects of free radicals over time.
The smell of this product is amazing, like a citrus candy. I love applying this at night before climbing into bed. My skin drinks it up and the smell ends my routine with a high. I find a small amount, and I mean small is just right as it spreads well.
The two key ingredients are Super Lotus that is supposed to capture the multi-benefit properties of the entire lotus plant in one power ingredient that helps to hydrate, boost radiance, and deliver antioxidant protection. And Peach Leaf Extract that helps skin look and feel refreshed overnight.
Found this brand at Whole Foods, and tried this plant-based scrub. Curtis and I both really like this, I can see why it was voted a best in beauty (2015,2016) from Allure. It’s made with sea kelp and french green clay. You get a get the nice exfoliating from the sea kelp but the clay adds a soothing/cleansing quality.
I’m all about a UV fluid, easier to apply, lightweight, perfect for travel and a little goes a long way. It’s also a 100% mineral-based sunscreen, with Tiger Lily Extract to protect skin against premature signs of aging and helps continue to maintain its natural firmness.
