Setting My 2019 Intentions

Well, hello there! It’s been a month since I’ve posted on the blog. I took a nice break over the holidays and have been easing back into things. This past month was nuts with client work and our vacation to Palm Springs!

As we enter the New Year, I think it’s so important to set goals, intentions, New Year Resolutions… whatever you want to call them!

After a great, but also a tragic year, I took a step back and looked at what I wanted to accomplish this year. I have a few personal things I’d like to keep private for now, but most of these are about carving time for myself, working on growing my business and this space on the internet.

So let’s get to it and share my 2019 intentions below!

1. Spend less time at events, more time with family and friends

After a busy, busy year, attending many events, I decided this year I wanted to spend more time at home in the evenings. I want to see my friends more, spend quality time with Curtis and just have more “me” time. I am very lucky to be invited to events, but I’m limiting my attendance this year.

2. Quality over quantity

This is going to be applied to all aspects of my life. From quality pieces of clothing to quality posts here on the blog. Except when it comes to my chai teas, I could drink 10 a day easy. Probably shouldn’t…

3. Focusing on my weight

2019 is the year I want to lose weight for real. And not to just lose weight, but to become strong again. I used to play a lot of sports, was pretty fit and strong and I’d like to get back to a good level again.

4. Read more books

Need to get back to reading again, I was always a book worm finishing a book every 2 days. I need to carve out time for that again (hence #1 above). Share any book recommendations in the comments please!)

5. See more live music

Curtis and I both would like to go see bands in person more often. So we intend to this year! I’d rather see smaller bands in smaller venues instead of paying a mortgage payment to see a popular artist.

6. Concentrate on building my business

I want to focus on my agency as much as I do my space on here. I set some business goals for this year and will be working towards those behind the scenes. Let me know if you would like more posts on this!

7. Authenticity

I have felt a shift in what I want to share, write and take on this space. Also in my personal life too, but mostly here I want to be more authentic, share more personal stories, in the moment on social and only surround myself with authentic people. For the most part, this has always been my focus, but social media I want to share more in the moment shots. It’s more fun, gives me less anxiety on planning it out and I feel you enjoy those more.

8. Travel more often

We want to carve out more of a budget to travel this year (and every year after). I want to explore more of the PNW, east coast of Canada and wherever else a seat sale may send us! Already planning a big trip to Italy this Spring and I am SO EXCITED! Curtis has never been to Italy, all my cousins seem to be having families and I want to eat all the pasta and experience it all with the hubby. It will be a bigger, second honeymoon. NYC was a blast, but Italy will be romantic πŸ™‚

That’s it! I would probably write down 10 more things for my 2019 intentions (create more YouTube content, declutter my home, walk more), but these are the main ones I wanted to share.

What are your intentions for this year? Have you started on them already? Share below!
