Some of you may know that I’m on the mission to losing weight this year. Curtis and I eat pretty healthy on a daily basis, most of my problems stem from sitting all day at work and maybe snacking too much. I love snacking, but I love lunch even more. It’s that meal I look forward to allllll morning haha.
I love to eat salads and I love salad mixes. It’s so easy to add proteins or other veggies to liven them up! For awhile now I’ve been buying Eat Smart salads at the store. We eat them for dinner with some grilled chicken or fish or I bring one for lunch at work. There are no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives in these salads, so it’s really a no brainer.
Adding fresh red peppers, cucumber slices, crumbled goat or feta cheese can really change a salad. The mixes are fantastic on their own, but if you wanted to add some more pizazz to them, that’s my little tip!
By 2018, all Eat Smart products will be free from high fructose corn syrup, artificial preservatives, hydrogenated fats, as well as artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners by the end of next year.
That means you are feeding your family and/or yourself only nutrition. I love how guilt free you can feel adding one of their salad mixes in your cart at the store. It’s the better choice than that bagel or chips haha.
But if you are already an avid Eat Smart consumer, you might have noticed that nearly 90% of Eat Smart products already contain a clean label! This includes all of their cut vegetable products, salad blends, the Vegetable Salad Kits (Sweet Kale, Strawberry Harvest, and Sunflower Kale) and the recently launched Salad Shake Ups.
Eat Smart sent over some of their new Salad Shake Ups for us to try and they are delish! So easy to bring to work for lunch (that’s where I ate mine) and flavourful. As usual, I also brought my add-ins because I like to try to get as much nutrition as I can in a meal. But on their own, they are pretty nutrient-packed.
They come in deep bowls with lockable lids, so there isn’t any chance of shaking that salad onto the floor. You could literally eat it on a bus (comes with a fork!). I would advise not to unless you are starving, because you don’t want to be that person eating on a bus, but if you needed to, you could.
These nutrient-packed salads contain the βNo Artificial: Colors, Flavors, or Preservativesβ Β Label and are available in three flavors:
So, have you tried out Eat Smart salads? Did you like them? What’s your favourite flavour?
