I cannot believe this is her 12-month update! It doesn’t seem a minute since I started all those months ago! She is quite the little toddler now, no longer a baby really.
She is just so spunky and a rule breaker. Rowan just can’t sit still, she is fast on her feet, she just sneaks up on you. Sometimes I don’t even know she is behind me and the poor thing gets knocked down when I turn around. She loves to get into every cabinet, always needs to hold my skincare products, and LOVES bathtime.
She could play in the bathtub all night, just splashes around, loves tipping over cups, playing with her tub friends. And she is now into waving hello at EVERYONE. Even started saying “Hi” more pronounced this week. It’s hilarious! Rowan is so good at using her spoon and fork now, with both hands, we can’t tell which is her dominant when she is eating yet. Still hates hummus, but I’m going to try to make edamame hummus and see if she likes that.
I bought her a new hairbrush, she knows how to use it herself along with brushing her teeth. Phew! I was afraid the toothbrush was going to be an issue but she knows to move it back and forth, must have been watching me more closely than I thought.
She truly is a happy, little girl! Loves to play, really good at playing independently, and can get on and off the couch with ease. Also moves her little chair around the living area to each window to look out at. With a bottle, just chilling in this chair watching people walk by. She knows certain words and phrases and listens to you too. So she will follow me to the bedroom if I ask her, also knows snacks and mealtimes, knows her bedtime routine, to pull her arms through a shirt, and mimics us reallllll well. Just so proud of how far she’s come in a year! I’m sure this next one will be really busy for us.
AND the best part is that Rowan loves to give big hugs and kisses! It’s the BEST. I live for those every day.
I’ve just been so busy this past month with the gym, unpacking, bringing her to her classes and appointments, and just trying to catch up with work that it flew by. I’m looking forward to more downtime and enjoying more time with Rowan and for myself in the evenings.
She’s been sleeping really well at night, most times through the night. And she goes down for bed really easily too, since she knows her routine now. We are transitioning to cow’s milk this week, she already has no issues with cold breastmilk or formula or water, so I can’t see this being an issue. This will mean I will wean myself off of pumping and will eventually have all that time back during the day I spend doing it.
I am looking forward to this spring and summer and all the fun activities we can do all together! She loves the playground and had fun at the pool and beach last year, so I’m hoping we can spend many summer days at those places together.
Don’t forget to check out last month’s update here. I will only do yearly updates from now on!
She’s just sooo cute!! Can’t believe it’s been a year already! Such a big girl now! ❤️❤️
