The Best Day at Richmond Country Farms Pumpkin Patch

The Best Day at Richmond Country Farms Pumpkin Patch

We were lucky to get a dry, warm day to go visit the pumpkin patch at Richmond Country Farms! It’s become an annual tradition, we visited last year for Rowan’s first Halloween. It’s 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver, has a fantastic farm market, there’s a wagon ride to the patch (with onboard live entertainment), food trucks, a football field of dahlias if you go earlier in October, and a ton of beautiful pumpkins! They also have a corn maze, but we didn’t do it, I’ve heard it’s fun for the kids though!

This time I brought my mom along, the three of us had a fun morning!Β  Rowan was obsessed with all the farm animals, they have this area at the check-in where the pigs, chickens, goats, and other small animals are there to see. They do such a good job at setting up, there are eccentric displays like an animatronic scorpion amongst some sunflowers haha, but it’s all fun! And for anyone interested, quite a few cute photo opportunities.

I found out they’ve been open for 40 years! Usually, they have a miniature train, but I guess with everything going on, they suspended it. I was wondering what the train tracks were for!

What to Pack for a Pumpkin Patch Outing

– Appropriate Shoes (definitely not sandals unless you are in Southern California
– If with a toddler, bring wipes!
– A camera for capturing all the memories
– Snacks!
– A wagon, wish I thought of this before seeing 10 people with one

If you were looking for a pumpkin patch near Vancouver, this is it. It’s less than an hour, has all the fun experiences for the whole family, you can do a little grocery shopping afterward. We will definitely be returning next year with Rowan!
