The Winter Boots I’m Wearing Rain or Snow This Season

If anyone lives in Vancouver or well anywhere where you are effected by snow and rain, you know how essential it is to have a good pair of winter boots. ESSENTIAL. If your feet are cold and wet, well then you’re going to be miserable. Because it rains for months on end here with a touch of snow. And for my fellow Canadians east of the Rockies, you need boots for the endless snow. That’s why these Olang boots are seriously a staple you need in your closet.
Snow in Vancouver

When Olang Canada sent these over I was actually in need of some boots. I have other well known rain boots but no snow boots. In Vancouver we don’t necessarily get much snow during the Winter in the city. Rain for months sure, but not really enough snow. But every year I whine to Curtis how I should buy winter boots to keep my feet warm.

Since January, whenever I head outdoors I find myself reaching for my new toasty-warm, super-comfortable boots. They even have this grip on the bottom so you don’t slip and slide over ice. It’s amazing, I don’t have that worry when walking to the bus or around town.

In fact, we were walking in a snowstorm the other day (more like a dusting compared to anything past the Rockies), I thought to myself – Is this how warm and comfortable shoes feel like?! Because rain boots are a little awkward and not really warm, but these are purely amazing.

In the last week or so, we’ve had a few snow days and I’m not afraid of stepping out of the house. These go with my more casual outfits (ahem my purple leggings that are uber comfy) to my more weekend casual. And with the zipper, they’re so easy to slip on when taking the dog out for a quick pee late at night. (Or so I like to think, because let’s be real, it’s not me going out in the middle of the night. That’s Curtis’s deal haha)

Tips for Buying Winter Boots

  1. While the outer part of a winter boot needs to be made of waterproof materials, like suede, leather or nylon, its sole must be rubberized, to block out moisture while also keeping your feet dry.
  2. A slip resistant sole, is equally important as the materials that make the inner and outer part of the shoe to keep you warm.
  3. A secure fit boot that is going to secure your steps while keeping your feet steady.
  4. Comfort, comfort, comfort.

I received the Olang boots for free, but all opinions are still my own.

  1. Boots with the grip on the bottom make a big difference. Especially for someone clumsy like me who sometimes finds it hard to stay balanced over the snow and ice. Sounds like a great pair of shoes.

  2. Those are some really nice boots. They look durable but comfortable and stylish
