We are now settled into our new apartment in downtown Vancouver! All the furniture and bits we ordered to add to our home decor had arrived sans a storage ottoman but figured I can now share a home tour of our new place. You can check out the tour of our old apartment here.
Our Coal Harbour Vancouver apartment is about 1,400 square feet, larger than our last place, we have more room to stretch and Rowan has her own bedroom now. Before we shared our office and her nursery, but now she has a whole room to play in!
And another new thing besides a solarium area for an office is a second bathroom. It’s a luxury we are loving, extra storage, another bathroom to get ready in the morning, and separate for our guests. The kitchen isn’t a galley kitchen, there are a ton of windows, so much natural light I’m not used to while cooking. Plus a gas stove! Nothing beats cooking on a gas stovetop.
It’s obviously older in style, but it suits our needs and you know what, everyone is going back to pink bathrooms and gold fixings in their bathrooms. I suppose we are on-trend?
Did I say we have a lot of natural light? Every room has windows, the main bedroom, on one side is just a bay of windows. I love it, it lifts my mood up every day with the bright space.
Our location is great, just a block from the seawall, a 10-minute walk to Stanley Park to Robson Street, and 20 minutes to Gastown or English Bay. You can follow my adventures in our new neighbourhood on Instagram. I can’t wait for Summer and all the fun activities we can do downtown!
As you can tell, we didn’t get too much furniture for here, a new cabinet to house our alcohol and misc office stuff. Our bedroom got a few new purchases, a velvet bedframe, rug, nightstands (with drawers!), and lamps. I love how it’s turned out, still want to grab a small chair, but that’s to be found. Our mattress is the same and AMAZING, you can see my review for it here.
Rowan got a new dresser for her room (I found on Wayfair) along with a little bookshelf and a couple of prints, but we were able to put her toy basket and activity table in her room now. It’s great, she loves her space, she explores and plays and grabs clothes out of her drawers haha.
Oh, I forgot to mention, we have a second kitchen. It comes with a washer/dryer combo, electric stovetop, and a small sink, but it’s functional. We love the mid-century vibes especially the backsplash behind the stove. It’s great to cook plush fruit and vegetables, and store spatulas.
I’m sure over the coming weeks, I’ll add some new decor pieces to the living area, but overall love how everything we owned already worked out. The only new artwork was a print I got from HomeSense to cover up the anchor holes Curtis made. He found out while trying to hang a mirror we have a concrete wall due to the stairwell. Instead of filling and painting right away, we hid them haha.
You might spot some faux florals I grabbed from this online store, they look great and just work out so well in Rowan’s room alongside her faux plant from a local store in Vancouver. I added a couple for the living space, to keep it fresh-looking all year instead of spending so much money on fresh florals. That adds up quickly, I say that with experience.
I hope you enjoy this look at our new apartment! We are both really happy with how our new larger space and how it feels like our family home now that everything is all unpacked. Rowan especially is happy with all the extra space to run around.
