When we were packing up to move earlier this year, I said to myself that I wanted to update our dinnerware. We were using our Vera Wang set we received for a wedding gift and after four years of daily use, it was a little worn out with scratches and the plates were huge. That’s when I saw people talk about Fable on Instagram and it looked beautiful and sturdy plus it’s a Canadian brand!
To be transparent, a friend sent my contact details to the team at Fable after seeing an Instagram story of mine asking people about dinnerware brands and they reached out. Already on my radar, I was VERY excited! They kindly sent over a dinnerware bundle set, plus a serving dish and bowl (we use this bowl I swear daily it’s a great size). I topped up our collection after adding a few more bowls I bought because we loved it instantly. Yes, I am claiming my love for plates, that’s how nice they are.

What is interesting about Fable is that it is a Canadian brand that’s based in Vancouver with the mindset of being a direct-to-consumer business with a focus on quality craftsmanship and ethical business practices. What I appreciate is that they are dedicated to becoming a zero-waste company, which is why they only partner with makers who put the earth first, using recycled clay and eco-friendly packaging. You can go on their website and see their transparent breakdown of their pricing too, which you do not see very often from any brands.
OK, here are the details you want besides me just gushing about it.
The dinnerware and flatware are of a minimalist aesthetic and most importantly are designed to be durable and functional. That means that it is all dishwasher, microwave, and oven-safe. This was important to both Curtis and me, we didn’t want to get anything we had to handwash or couldn’t heat up in the microwave. In life with a toddler, every second counts when doing chores.
If you know me well, you know that I do my research and thoroughly read reviews before I buy anything. Ask Curtis, it drives him nuts but I like to know if I’m spending a lot of money on what I’m spending it on. So before I did say yes to receiving their dinnerware I did read reviews and asked some friends who had it online and was satisfied with what I learned about them. And after using it daily for two months now I can confidently say it’s not only beautiful but has held up amazingly well! Every dish we make and serve up looks Pinterest-worthy in the dish or bowl, just making eating a regular weekday dinner a little more special.
We ended up getting the Ceramic Dinnerware set in blush pink, it included dinner plates, salad plates, pasta bowls, and cereal bowls. The serving plate and bowl are also in blush pink and Curtis and I both love this colour. When we bought to expand our bowls, we got the speckled white in the cereal and pasta bowls and I got the everyday bowls in dove grey. I love how my cupboard looks when I open the cabinet door, just so pretty!
Oh, and I want to quickly touch base on the packaging. First, it comes in recycled cardboard and is efficient. It’s smartly packed so nothing is broken in transit, cute branding with dinner party topics, and no plastic included. And trust me, I’ve had issues with plates arriving damaged in transit, once where I had to return them three times because each shipment was broken. Both orders from Fable came intact, we had no issues, no chips, and nothing missing from the orders.
There you have it, my quick review on Fable dinnerware. Yes, half of it was gifted by the brand, but honestly, it met all my expectations and I ended up ordering and paying for more dishes myself. It’s that good, so if you are looking for great, minimalist, everyday dinnerware (even flatware!) look no further. It’s affordable compared to other brands, you get sturdy dishes for a fraction of the cost made by Portuguese artisans, it’s everything I was looking for.

Do they get blistering hot in the microwave? Thanks
i’ve never had that problem myself, i wouldn’t say anything more normal than any other dishware.
Thanks for the review do they stain??
i haven’t had that issue with mine
Do they scratch? Wanting to know!
yes they can, but I use the brush you can get to remove them!
