Another month, another monthly beauty buys post. In the past month I have added a couple of new products to my beauty regime. I had a bit of acne caused by hormones (thanks 30!) and needed a better facial cleanser. I wanted a product that had more natural ingredients and had a gentler anti-acne component. I went with the Body Shop’s Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser. A little goes a long way, it smells fresh and doesn’t leave my face feeling stripped. Tea tree oil has unique disinfecting and soothing properties. It will not strip your skin of its natural oils and cause further damage like other harsh acne treatments.
I also wanted a better makeup remover that was gentle yet efficient. My sister started using the Bioderma Micelle solution and raved about it. I’ve seen it and decided to try it out. WOW! A little bit on a cotton ball removes everything off of my face. It’s a gentle cleansing water that soaks up all the residue and a big bottle is inexpensive since it lasts forever.
I ran out of my last serum and wanted something different. After browsing the store for almost an hour, I decided to go with Vichy’s Aqualia Thermal Serum. It has high reviews, feels nice on my skin and isn’t sticky or oily. So far so good, but if anyone has any suggestions on a more natural product let me know! It also hydrates for 48 hours as claimed and is lightweight.
In the last month or so, my skin has cleared up big time! I do get a couple of zits after eating or drinking too much dairy. But I have noticed since I cut that out of my diet, my chin area has cleared up! I do credit the tea tree cleanser though and have went and bought the blemish stick.
What do you use in your skin care regime? Also check out the last monthly beauty buys post.
1. Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum
2. Bioderma Sensibio H20 Micelle Solution
3. The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser
I absolutely love anything tea tree… I’m planning to get the essential oils to use in everyday things. Smells great too. Great post!`
loving these !!! I def want to try the tea tree one ! Thanksn ! Laci
I really love the Body Shop tea tree oil products!
Ok, I also LOVE the Vichy but it started to irritate my skin a bit (sadly) due to weather and fragrance, so I’ve switched it up for now.
For a little more of a natural product I HIGHLY recommend the Clarins Hydra Quench Bi-Phase Serum http://www.clarins.ca/en/hydraquench-intensive-serum-bi-phase/C010404021.html. Soothing for my sensitive skin, smoothing and super hydrating. The only thing I dislike is that there isn’t any real anti-aging ingredients.
For even more Natural, I recommend the Derma E Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid http://dermae.com/product/215/Hydrating-Serum-with-Hyaluronic-Acid.html . Not always hydrating enough for me but it’s got super ingredients!
ooooo i’ll look into these two! thanks π
Juice Beauty is a good natural option… You can get their stuff at Whole Foods. I had a serum in my Birch Box and I loved it! Super concentrated so a little goes a long, long way. And that Bioderma stuff is incredible. I can’t remember what life was like before it.
haha. ok i’ll look into those two. if i can get it while i shop, why not?
