Last Sunday I visited the Interior Design Show West at the Vancouver Convention Centre with my mom and brother’s girlfriend. Sunday was the last day of this year’s show, which was also the third year it has been held in Vancouver. I’m glad to see the show here, Vancouver has an emerging interior design industry and many creatives call this city home. I kept seeing on Instagram big names that were in the city for this year’s show and I was excited to see them enjoying our city.
I’m sharing a few of my favourite exhibitions and vendors that attended the show. It was a great collection of brands and designers along with a few local artisans. Inspiration was around every corner from seating to appliances to lighting. There were talks from Jonathan Adler, Orlando Soria, Tommy Smythe, and Philippe Malouin. Design Milk curated called The LA Exchange, which was one of my favourite collections. Montauk Sofa presented the ALEX sofa, which was the largest, most comfortable sofa Iβve have ever sat on. The back and arm cushions stand up or fold over allowing you to be comfortable in many ways. I would fill my apartment with this sofa and never leave it. Piper would look great in this dog house if we had a yard.Part of The New Frontier, presented by American Standard, this massive chandelier was created by Standard Socket and urbancase.Β First up was the Dinner by Design exhibit. Select designers were chosen and asked to design a dining table setup with $25. The three-dimensional dining installations were pretty impressive and I would love to have a couple of them in my home.
There were a few local vendors hosted by the Georgia Straight in an area called The District and a Portland pop-up.

More great booths loaded with fantastic furniture and appliances. That stove belowΒ is my dream stove! I would hang out in my kitchen all day just to look at that beautiful thing.
Did anyone go to the show? If so, what was your favourite exhibit? The Interior Design Show West is returning to Vancouver in 2016, and I suggest attending it to get your inspiration fix.
