One of my favourite pastimes during the holiday season is to make desserts and bake. Your home smells fantastic, you make a bunch of sweet treats to indulge on or to gift to friends and family and try out recipes you’ve been bookmarking all year.
I also love all the holiday chocolates that come out during the season. Especially TURTLES, with their gooey caramel and pecan pieces inside. My husband and I are both big fans, buying a box for us to share every year. I remember Curtis buying me a box in high school when we dated back then, now we share them every year, almost a tradition right?
Their limited assortment box comes with Salted Caramel and Dark Chocolate selections along with the Original flavour. YUM!! Did you know that they are a cherished Canadian tradition since 1949 and they are only available in Canada?
The gooey, caramel centres with pecan bits are what I love most about them. And they’re such an easy gift because everyone I know loves them. This year, I thought why not combine my love of TURTLES and baking and make a sweet treat for my friends!
I decided chocolate bark is an easy recipe and adding TURTLES in small bits is a perfect combination. It dresses up the bark and adds nice texture to each bite. I had to hold myself back from eating half the chocolate bark when it was done. And most importantly hide it from Curtis!
Chocolate bark is an easy recipe to make, it only requires melting chocolate, a box of TURTLES and a fridge. You can make it in advance and pack it up to gift when you see someone. And when you gift it to someone, they know you put a little heart and soul into their gift. It’s a nice touch! AND who doesn’t like to receive chocolate during the holidays?
Best of all, is that you can order TURTLES on amazon.ca now! So when you are buying any last minute orders this holiday season, add a box of TURTLES to your order! Keep on hand for any last minute gifts, treat yourself, or try and make this easy chocolate bark recipe.
Have you had a TURTLES chocolate? Are you an original TURTLES fan or do you like their new flavours?
** The broken bark can be stored in an airtight bag or container at cool room temperature for up to 10 days.
This post was sponsored by amazon.ca and Nestlé Canada, but all opinions and chocolate bark eating are my own. Check out my other favourite Nestlé Canada chocolate.
