I wanted to share the best Gifts Ideas for babies that are 6-12 months old! Honestly, though, I am in major denial that my baby is already 8.5 months!!! Like WHAT??? And this photo of her, I die!
As part of today’s guide: gifts for babies, I shared a big round-up of several of the toys and activities I would and will be wrapping up and giving to Rowan for Christmas this year. Several of these toys were toys I had gotten for Rowan earlier this year and have been a big hit for her and me. They helped with her development and learning as well as thought fine motor skills and grip, walking and so much more.
I know that babies donβt really need much for Christmas, which is why I only bought a couple of toys to throw under the tree and for βSantaβ to bring. I also knew it would be so fun for Rowan open her presents this year (with the help of mom and dad haha), I can just see her tearing that paper up. I also bought a few clothes for Rowan and some little things for her stocker since they are something she actually needs! Other great ideas are bowls, spoons, and sippy cups that you will start using more often as they start to eat.

I waited months for this to come, a hot ticket item in 2020! But Rowan just loves it, she bounces around, tries to figure out all the toys and it can be converted to a table once she outgrows sitting in it. Also, she stands on it and plays with the toys too, it will last us awhile.
I started our subscription to their play kits when Rowan was a month old, I was influenced by another blogger on Instagram and after looking into it, I thought it would be great! I at first didn’t buy any toys except for a doll or rattle when she was a newborn, and each kit comes with Montessori toys and activities! Just a no brainer, every two months one arrives full of activities and a booklet sharing ideas on developmental things we can do for and with Rowan.
This was a gift from my sister-in-law who has three kids. It took Rowan awhile to figure it out, she gets so excited when it sings and lights up. And was obsessed wtih chewing the little food shapes haha. Now she is starting to associate the shapes and holes in the basket. I can see it being around for awhile when we get to the pretend picnic stage.
Since Rowan was obsessed with our remote control for the TV, she would steal it and suck on it, I went searching for a baby version. This is so affordable (under $15!), plays music, has games, speaks Spanish, and so many more learning activities in this small remote.
Another gift from my other sister in law, and a huge hit! Rowan drags it around, she clinks the mallet to the keys and tries to make sounds now. Best part is that the mallet is attached so it can’t be lost.
I found these affordable soft blocks for her to play with, each block has numbers and cute animals. Besides learning to stack them, they will also help us learn numbers.
I randomnly grabbed these at a local store, they’re colourful, rattle and will be soothing for her gums while chewing them. The soft, textured surfaces encourage mouthing, aiding in the development of communication skills.
Originally I bought a wooden play gym and a seperate play mat for her as a newborn to practice tummy time. But then I grabbed this play gym because it just had so much more and you can also make it into a tent! How fun for her when she’s a little older.
These are one of my better purchases! Rowan loves to watch me stack them and then comes in and whacks them over haha. But we practice counting, and since they have cut out shapes in the bottom of the cups, they can also be fun in the tub!
Great options and all will help in her development β€οΈ
