Today, both the USA and Canada are remembering our veterans and the sacrifices they have and are still currently making. Remembrance Day is the holiday in Canada and around 11:11 we take a moment of silence to pay our respects. We need to remember that brave men and women have fought and sacrificed their lives so we can live in the freedom we do now. I couldn’t imagine the world if the two world wars didn’t occur and the technology that came about because of them. It’s crazy to think right?
This week was a busy week, I was absent from Instagram for a couple of days. Just wasn’t into posting and needed a break. I don’t ever really talk politics on here and I’m only going to say that I believe in democracy and am glad I live in a country like Canada. Albeit we still have our issues, and it’s not all perfect, but I’m thankful both sets of grandparents decided to immigrate here after WW2.
This weekend we have no real plans, my friend Mia came over last night and we watched cheesy 90s movies and drank cocktails. I’m writing this and Curtis is currently still sleeping (haha) and I’m watching a documentary on HBO. I want to run a few errands and just not have any concrete plans. I’ve also have a long list of blog projects and to-dos to finish, this holiday season is going to kill me!
I do have an upcoming trip in the next month! Pretty excited about this one! And I’ve got a ton of wedding plans to still organize and get our invitations ready to be mailed. I need to get my designer shoes on and get to it.
What are your plans this long weekend?
1. I suck at making pancakes! Curtis is the pro (Extra Crispy)
2. I’ve been craving these Cornbread Chicken Dumplings all week (Cozy Kitchen)
3. 100 year old colour portraits of NYC Russian immigrants (Buzzfeed)
4. Goats in pajamas
5. 8 beauty secrets of Italian women (Byrdie)
6. Christmas planning checklist (Career Girl Daily)
1. How to Make Your Skin Glow
2. How to Shop for a Leather Jacket
3. Upgrade Your Tech with Uniqfind
I believe that Veterans Day is a very important day. We owe our veterans so much.
It’s amazing, as on 11th November in Poland we also pay tribute to the ones who had given their lives for our freedom – this date is our National Independence Day!
Wow! Never knew that, so funny how that date works out.
