It’s another Friday Roundup, this time in August. Which I also feel is the countdown to the end of Summer. Whomp Whomp. But it’s also the start to the Rio Olympic Summer Games! Woohoo!
Even though they have so many issues down there that need to be sorted after the games. I know a lot have been focused on the athletes and the Olympics, but realistically there are far larger issues that need to be sorted for the people of Brazil and the province of Rio.
But let’s stay on a happier note here. I’m happy to get into it in the comments if you do have any!
Last weekend, we visited Westham IslandΒ (post to follow soon), ate strawberry soft serve sundaes, had a family picnic at Stanley Park, hit up the Nordstrom’s sale and other summer sales, celebrated one of my bestie’s birthdays and hung out with another for drinks and dinner. Overall it was a great long weekend!
This weekend, I’m starting it off with a facial at Glow Dermal Therapy. Then Curtis and I want to ride our bikes to a patio for a drink. I also have a few blog tasks to take care of. Develop recipes, shoot them, look into videos, do a fashion shoot and we still have to go to Bowen Island.
Annnnnnd the Olympics are on my radar! That might take up most of my weekend haha. I can’t wait for the swimming, diving and gymnastics. Those are my favs!
What are your plans this weekend? I bought all three items below at the Nordstrom sale, which I think is on till the 8th? Some good finds through all the chaos.
1. Wow, these pictures of the milky way are gorgeous! (This is Colossal)
2. Everyday herbs to help detox and rejuvenate (The Chalkboard)
3. The world’s biggest hotel, 10,000 rooms big (T&L)
4. Stranger Things glossary. If you haven’t watched it, do it now! (Vulture)
5. This explorer’s dog is the ultimate model (Messy Nessy Chic)
6. Vintage first class airplane food (Vintage Everyday)
7. I want this house converted from a church.
8. This list of 10 underrated cities to visit is giving me major wanderlust (Bloglovin)
9. 21 snacks from around the world (Vox)
10. Paper food videos (Gizmodo)
1. Day trip to Othello Tunnels
2. The blog turns two
3. A summer night’s style wish list
You take beautiful photos!
Sounds like a fun weekend for you. I have never been into watching the Olympics. Except that one year they had racewalking, which I found hilarious and very entertaining. This weekend my husband and I are planning on getting into distressing wood and we will take our puppy to the dog park. We will probably cut grass too.
I agree with you that there are major issues that need sorting out in Brazil. But you know what? Any country that was hosting also has problems to be sorted. I am in England where the last games were held and we still have major work to be done in lots of cities. Crime is on the rise too!
But as you say, Let’s keep it positive. Bring on the Olympics and the Jamaican team especially Mr Bolt, lol
Thanks for the round up of interesting stories and have a great weekend too.
Milky Way pictures are out of this world. No pin intended
Have an amazing weekend! I’m on call so probably no fun for me!
