I know itβs a holiday today, being the start of Easter weekend. We donβt celebrate Easter per say in my family, itβs more of an excuse to get together and eat a meal. We donβt go to church or do easter egg hunts outside. Itβs time spent with each other and a long weekend. This weekend Curtis and I will also be staying downtown for a night. We had a free night from booking our Europe trip on Hotels.com last year and had to use it soon. So I said why not a staycation in our own city? Curtis thinks the highlight besides the pool is to watch TV in bed!?
In a couple of weeks we are going to Palm Springs to book our wedding venue (fingers crossed!) and get in some sunshine. I want to hire a bakery and florist too while down there and maybe even a photographer. Anyone else feel it took a while to feel like an engaged couple? Itβs been months and I dunno, hasnβt felt like anything special yet. Maybe after we start planning this wedding? I hope so, otherwise Iβm the worst bride-to-be. Or else it could be that it took him 8 years to ask! I guess too after living together for 5 years, we are practically married.
How is everyone spending their long weekend? Anyone jetting off to somewhere tropical? We are brunching with friends this afternoon at Tacofino. I plan on doing some recipes for the blog, I said that last weekend and all I did was make another cocktail. I sound like a drunk haha. But I wasnβt feeling the best and didnβt feel like doing that whole charade. So this weekend it is. Plus our staycation, easter dinner and then Curtis works Monday. I think with that day to myself I might run some errands, enjoy a pot of tea and read a book.
