It’s January’s last Friday Roundup of 2016. Where did this month go? I had so many goals to accomplish this month, and feel that I haven’t got halfway through my list. We still haven’t set a date for our wedding, picked a venue or anything for it. At least it’s not until 2017, but I want to get our date set at least in the next two weeks. I am enjoying flipping through wedding magazines and the Martha Stewart book my friend got me.
I am looking forward to this weekend, Curtis and I are going to another dinner for Dine Out Vancouver, trying more recipes for the blog and a photo shoot with my brother. I also plan on watching a movie with popcorn too. The simple things in life are sometimes the best times!
What movies have you watched lately? Finally saw Mad Max: Fury Road last week, it was really good! I really want to see All Things Must Pass, The Martian, Straight Outta Compton, Palio and Amy. Has anyone seen these?
There is also the Hot Chocolate Festival still on in Vancouver and I want to try them all! But I will settle for a couple, my dentist will thank me.
What are your plans this weekend? Don’t forget to try your hand at meal prepping this Sunday or start your DIY gifts for Valentine’s Day.
1. 12 secrets of Central Park (Food & Wine)
2. A remake of “Africa” by Kristen Bell & Dax Shepherd (Refinery 29)
3. David Bowie the Invisible New Yorker (NY Times)
4. Surreal folding landscape made by Drone photos (Peta Pixel)
5. A guide to your new wok (The Kitchn)
6. Kanye’s Twitter feud with Wiz Khalifa. Just bizarre. (Vox)
7. OkΒ these are summer in a glass! Strawberry bottomed pineapple margaritas (How Sweet Eats)
8. Fun little project (DIY Marbled Hooks), I actually need new hooks for my aprons (Design Sponge)
9. Meet Lilli, the inspiration for Barbie (Messy Nessy Chic)
10. Such a pretty heart manicure for Valentine’s Day (Vitamini Handmade)
I’m going to Africa in two weeks. That video with Kristen and Dax is EVERYTHING!!
Enjoy your engagement time – it goes by fast!

Mmm, hot chocolate festival!! The Martian was really good, definitely recommend it. We want to see some of the Oscar nominated movies this weekend if we can like Joy. As for Sunday, I’m definitely trying to kick my meal prep into gear now that football is pretty much over.
