This past weekend my parents hosted an engagement party for us. It was just our parents, siblings and grandparents in attendance. A chance for our families to meet each other and enjoy tasty food. We just tentatively picked a date for next year and plan on Palm Springs as the destination for the wedding. I think I found a band and have bookmarked a couple of photographers from the area. Overall feeling pretty good so far about our checklist. Last week our wedding colour palette was finalized by me after going through all of what Pantone has to offer. Yes I am that graphic design geek, but it keeps me sane to know our colour scheme.
Foood! So much food! Truffle Mac & Cheese, bruschetta, cannelini bean crostini, cucumbers with a red pepper aioli, figs, mini vegetable pot pies, cheese and cured meats, crudite, meatballs, prawns wrapped in proscuitto, mini stuffed potato skins, watermelon with feta, tomato soup in shot glasses with mini grilled cheese bites and more! Let’s just say we ate more for dinner after and the next day for lunch haha.
My mom, sister and brother’s girlfriend cooked up a storm of delicious little bites to eat with drinks. I mean, Curtis and I walked in and didn’t expect that much food! Boy did they outdo themselves π Thanks ladies!
This is why I love him. We had three shots of us that night together and this is one of them…
Our engagement cake was from Butter Baked Goods, it was simple and pretty and yummy! Bottom layer was vanilla and the top was chocolate.
Thanks to everyone who came and my parents for hosting. We both are pretty excited for the next year of planning our wedding. We both love Palm Springs and the vibe that it offers. Check out my other posts on this fun desert city in California.
