Where I Get Glammed Up For Events in Vancouver

It’s not secret I go to a lot of events for my job, so looking put together is very important to me. It gives me great confidence when I feel like I am. Funny how a bit of lipstick or styling your hair can really make a difference on your self-esteem.

So when Curlique reached out to do my makeup before an event I jumped at that! Who doesn’t like getting their makeup done? Harold was amazing! It was like I was getting my makeup done by one of my besties.

An extension of the Blanche Macdonald Centre family, CurliQue Beauty is a learning laboratory where they celebrate education, retail and entertainment. Their Q Talent members are all Pro Artists and fellow BMC graduates. You can see all their services here.

Just under an hour and I looked fresh and glowy, ready for a Patron tequila competition I had later that evening at the D/6 Lounge. Harold even gave my hair a quick bit of volume and sent me home with a bit of cleansing balm to remove it all later that night.

It’s located right downtown, on Robson street so very accessible to most. I took transit in and it was no problem. Which is perfect if you are heading to a holiday party this season and want to get your makeup or hair done beforehand. Just a really convienent location!

They carry an array of great beauty brands from Makeup Forever to Smith brushes. Also a few organic brands like ILA and Kosa. I made a mental note to return for some shopping in the future. Gotta stock up with my favourites!

I was so happy with my look that evening, I took probably, not joking, at least 30 selfies haha.
