Leading up the holidays, there many activities and attractionsΒ to do and seeΒ this month. I’ve made a list of all the main ones that are enjoyed by families in Vancouver. Curtis and I usually go to the Christmas Market in the city, I’ve always enjoyed the Nutcracker, ice skating in Robson Square is really nice and any chance to see pretty lights outside is always a must for us. (Of course when it’s dry out, which is a 50/50 chanceΒ in December for Vancouver!)
2014 Christmas Market in Vancouver
The beloved annual Vancouver Christmas Market will be celebrating its fifth anniversary in the heart of downtown at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza and will run until Christmas Eve.
With a total of over 50 unique vendors, local and international flavour, beautiful lights and delicious food, guests of all ages will find something to satisfy their yuletide appetites at this yearΓs Christmas Market.
When: November 22 to December 24, 11 am to 9 pm daily (11 am to 6 pm on December 24)

Got Craft?
Vancouver largest indie craft fair holiday edition happens over two days and aims to bring together a community that fosters handmade and DIY culture. The fair features over 75 handmade designers, craft workshops, tasty treats, music, free swag bags and more!
When: Saturday, December 13 and Sunday, December 14 from 10 am to 5 pm

Shipyards Christmas Market
The Shipyards is being transformed into a winter wonderland with aΒ German-style Christmas MarketΒ in the Pipe Shop building.Β The Christmas Market will includeΒ 50 local artisansΒ selling clothing, jewellery, home decor, candies, craft beer, vodka, gin, wine, baked goods, wood products, preserves, and many other unique item. You’re bound to find some great gifts for everyone on your list.
Admission to the indoor Christmas Market is $2 or $5 for a market pass.

Canyon Lights in North Vancouver
Capilano Suspension Bridge Parkβs popular holiday event, Canyon Lights, has a tall order this year β laying claim once again to be the home of the worldβs tallest living Christmas tree?! Standing 46.4m (152 feet) tall, this Douglas-fir will be adorned in thousands of sparkling lights.
Park guests will also be dazzled by hundreds of thousands of lights glittering throughout the rainforest, across the Suspension Bridge and on CLIFFWALK.Β A childrenβs scavenger hunt, gingerbread cookie decorating, sing-a-long carols with the holiday band are all back by public demand and new this year create your own Christmas card and enjoy holiday treats in the Winter Pavilion.
