Before we went to Europe this June, my new Canon EOS M50 arrived in the mail. Literally the day before, I was having a slight panic attack over the delivery, if you saw my IG stories, you know. This was the perfect camera to bring with us!
It’s lightweight mirrorless camera, small enough to fit in my purse, takes great photos and records video so well. It’s functions are very easy to figure out, Curtis really enjoyed using it to take my photos and shoot video for our vlogs. You can see the vlogs on my Youtube channel, Italy is slowly rolling out the next couple of weeks!
A few photos Curtis or myself took with the camera, I’m very satisfied with how they turned out!
The screen can flip out and rotates to the front which is great for filming. I will be using it to film sit-down videos at home and continue vlogging. For whatβs still considered a fairly budget camera in the photography world, the quality is incredible.
The touchscreen is a fantastic feature, for the novice photographer, you can adjust your settings quite quickly. Curtis thought this was a dream. The menu is easy to navigate, with now standard options like a Wifi function that allows users to connect to the Canon Camera Connect app to transfer images to their smart device. So you can upload those Instagram posts right away!
Most important to myself is that the Canon EOS M50 is a compact interchangeable lens camera. It also has 4k video capabilities, 24-megapixel vibrant photographs, and Dual Pixel Autofocus system, the Canon EOS M50 is a great piece of tech. The only fault I can think of is that there is only one memory card slot. But if you’re not a blogger than this most likely isn’t a problem. We take more photos on average, so it’s nice to have a dual slot.
Here’s a few other key features of the Canon EOS M50:
And I want to point out one more thing, a very important point for us bloggers or vloggers… the battery life! As you might already know Canon’s battery lives are generally pretty good. This was excellent, it lasted whole days out, filming and shooting for 8 hours. If you travelled to Europe or any large cities, you are out and about all day long, so this was key. And we only had one battery, didn’t have a chance to grab another one before we flew out. Which reminds me to add one to my Amazon cart!
I’m looking forward to shooting more videos with it, and leaving my DSLR at home most days. I have my eye on getting another lens, the 15-45mm kit lens was great, perfect for most of our needs, but I want a wide-angle lens for those cinematic shots.
The Canon EOS M50 is an excellent entry-level camera for beginners. From its variety of features to its portable size and ease-of-use, it’s a great camera to pick-up. Plus, having a kit that comes with a lens makes it an easier choice.
What camera do you use? Would you consider buying this one?
This post was sponsored by Canon Canada. All memories captured during our trips are of my own.
What a great little camera for travelling! You have some beautiful shots!
Cute! I really want to get a new camera too! I need something a bit more travel friendly but still want high quality pics.
This is that camera π Was able to put it in my purse to walk around with.
