My baby shower was delayed due to Covid-19, weird to write that out into a sentence, but here we are. I know I am lucky that we were able to have a baby shower that had safe social distancing while celebrating!
Like many other moms who gave birth or are due soon, COVID has delayed a lot of our pregnancy and postpartum milestones. My mom initially was going to host a brunch a month after Rowan was born but then that was all canceled, so 4 months later, my mom’s good friend volunteered her large garden for a sip and see type celebration.
A dozen or so important people in my life including my sister, SILs, grandmas, nieces and a handful of friends were able to attend. The weather wasn’t in our favour but we celebrated and had a lovely afternoon sipping tea and eating scones. I even forgot to take photos with everyone, so unlike me!
Everyone spoilt Rowan! She went home with so many great toys, clothes, and accessories LOL. She of course has no idea, she even slept through her whole baby shower! Just snoozed away in the corner until we left to go home. I took plenty of photos and sadly didn’t get many with her and my family since she slept and it poured rain on us an hour into it. But that’s ok, just happy to have one.
My mom had a good idea to hand out birthday cards for every birthday of hers until the age of 18. Each guest wrote something in their card for Rowan to open up on that birthday. I have those now tucked away in a box for her later on! What a fun idea, I love that she can read something from the people who attended her shower in the years to come.
The food was delicious, and the decor was of course amazing. Everyone went home with Sugarfina candies and a pretty vase full of florals. My nieces of course enjoyed their candies before tea was served LOL. Shout out to my mom who always knows how to throw a good party! Wished the sun cooperated with our plans, but the setting and views were enjoyed by all.
Nice photos! It was a nice day, at least we got through most of lunch before the rain started 😊💕
