Who doesn’t love a good margarita? (No one.) This classic cocktail is one of the most iconic in the world: it was invented in the 1930s and is even more popular today. I’ve made this cocktail in anticipation of our holiday trip to Palm Springs where I’ll be sipping it poolside. But if you’re not going anywhere sunny this year, this drink is perfect to manifest those tropical feelings.

In a medium bowl, toss cranberries with 1 tablespoon lime juice. Drain out lime juice, then toss with 2 tablespoons sugar. Pour onto a baking sheet to dry. Use these to garnish cocktails or even add to a festive tablescape!
Of course, a perfect Christmas margarita needs a salt rim! Why is salt used in margaritas? Salt brings out the sweet and sour flavors in the drink. For the Christmas margarita, you could also make a sugar rim if you’d like! Just use superfine or granulated sugar and follow the instructions below. Here’s how to make a salt rim:

Combine coconut milk, tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and ice in a blender. Blend until smooth.
Rim glasses with lime wedge and dip in sanding sugar. Pour into glass and garnish with lime and cranberries.
