My dream house would have a library room, which I know is something from the Victorian era, but hey I love books! When the book fair would come to school, that was one of the highlights of the year for me. So every season, I look forward to getting my hands on some of the popular books. I’m gonna share what I believe are the nine best books to read this Fall.
There are a couple of non-fiction, fiction, auto-biographical and biographies. Something for everyone, except children haha. Grab a book, find a quiet spot, grab a warm drink and get lost in the words. Oh and a couple are actually a couple of years old, not released in 2016. But sometimes you find a great book a little later than others. Right?
You can also see what I was reading this past Spring and what I read last summer.
A coming-of-age in the NYC restaurant industry story.
WWII in France through the eyes of two sisters. I feel like this is bound to be big and beautiful.
An investigative journalist tries to solve the murder of a cult-horror-film director’s daughter.
Some of NASA’s greatest mathematicians were black women, segregated from their white counterparts and known as “colored computers” during the Jim Crow era.
Chronicles 32 years in the life of a Russian aristocrat forced to live out his days in Moscow’s Metropol Hotel.
A mind-bending exploration of time travel: its subversive origins, its evolution in literature and science, and its influence on our understanding of time itself.
The 1974 abduction of heiress Patty Hearst in San Francisco by the Symbionese Liberation Army, and its sensational aftermath.
The three-time Pulitzer-winner tells the story of the rise of the post-9/11 American surveillance state.
A weird, mysterious book store is the setting—complete with a new employee who begins to discover that the store may be more than it seems.
Oh, yeah. I love to look through books that other people recommend. Thanks for the list.
“Sweetbitter” based on that description alone sounds like my life story already. If the idea of a 24-hour bookstore is supposed to be chilling, I’m not getting it. The only chills I’m getting at the thought of a B&N that never closes is caused by excitement and nothing else 😀
This is a great list! I just bought 2 new books (Girl on the Train because I gave in to peer pressure lol and a baking book) but the history of time travel is totally up my alley! Will put in my to-read shelf!
Thanks for the suggestions. I’m always looking for new books to read and have already added some to my library hold list!
I’ve been wanting to read Sweetbitter, and some of those other books look good too. 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
