6 Weeks to go! Wow, in just a few weeks we will meet this little person growing inside of my belly. I’m trying to just enjoy the next month and a bit.
We’ve been nesting like crazy, finishing up little projects like resanding and staining our coffee table, painting the closet, washing all the baby clothes I kept and putting those away, and just organizing the apartment, making room for another human in here. Let me tell you, not as easy when you have to get two kids into a bedroom (still love Rowan’s bedroom!) at different ages. Thankfully a newborn doesn’t need much in terms of toys and clothes, but I’m thinking about later this year when we have to fit a crib. That’s for a later time.
Next week, I plan on packing my hospital bag and just having it done and tucked away. My strategy is to not have much to do in April and just enjoy those last few weeks. Have more time to take Rowan on mommy and me dates, get my nails done, see friends, nap, and relax. To get it all sorted before then, would be ideal. My baby shower is in April too, I’m excited to celebrate with my friends and family!
Rowan is also very excited for the baby, she keeps making little plans such as bike rides, showing the baby how to go down a slide, going swimming, you know all the things newborns are capable of doing. I try to explain the baby can’t do half of her list yet, but I don’t think she’ll get it until they are here and she can see for herself.
I also have been sharing more content on Instagram, you can see my at-home shoot I did on my iPhone here. They turned out so good!
I’m currently planning a maternity shoot with my friend Ana again. She took my photos with Rowan before, and I’m excited to document my pregnancy again. The belly is popping lately!
Other than that, just feeling more and more tired, my hips are sore, heartburn has arrived and did I say exhausted? I have a couple of massages booked coming up, I can’t wait to go and try to get more prenatal yoga into my daily routine. I just forget to move more lately, the weather was crappy, but Spring is here, so I plan to do more daily walks.
And lastly, my cravings aren’t anything extreme. Fresh fruit, ice-cold drinks, smoothies, and crunchy vegetables. Smaller meals are key right now, otherwise, I feel like I’m going to explode if I eat a large meal.
I’ll be sure to have another of these updates around 38 weeks and of course a postpartum update! They’re like little diaries for me to reflect on later. In case you missed it, here’s my 29-week update.
