Well here we are, less than two months before the little bambino arrives! I’m now in my 33rd week of pregnancy, little larger, more tired and out of breath LOL.
We started our prenatal classes in January and did two times a week till tomorrow night. It was interesting, learned a lot about the stages of labour, medical procedures and much more. Curtis and I found it really helpful, I’ve done my research before, but you pick up more tidbits in class and are able to ask questions in a safe space. I recommend going to a class if you are having your first!
The nursery is almost done, just installing another storage cabinet in the closet and hang some bookshelves. Loving how it’s looking! And we are still waiting for our new couch to arrive, hopefully it comes this week and then the living space is almost complete! The amount of natural light out the new place has made me so happy!
You’re probably wondering if I have any weird cravings… well the answer is no. Literally still the same, citrus fruit, fresh veg, and all my smoothies. Boring I know, I do love to have the occasional sweet treat, but I’m finding my appetite is becoming smaller, so I’m trying to eat more small meals throughout the day.
I’ve been walking a lot, as usual, started going to prenatal yoga classes and stretching more at home. My hips are killing me though, especially the one where my pelvis dislocated in a car accident years ago… I think the extra weight I’ve been putting on is the cause and the stretching of my hips for birth. UGH. I will be booking another couple of prenatal massages in over the next few weeks along with a day at the Scandinavia Spa in Whistler! Cannot wait for a little getaway before baby, one where it’s only a short drive away.
Curtis has been great though! Makes sure I make an effort to relax and sleep, he’s always taken his share of cooking meals so that hasn’t changed, but has now been delegated the tasks of rolling out my legs with a foam roller, cutting my toenails and giving massages with no complaints! The best partner I could ask for 🙂
Things that are still on my list are to pack Curtis’s and the baby’s hospital bag (already packed mine!), installing the car seat, washing all the baby’s clothes and make a playlist for the hospital… will I use it I’m not sure but gives me something to do. We went over making a birth plan and my birth plan is just to get to the hospital, I want to have a natural birth and make sure we have that golden hour after birth to bond. That’s my plan so far, but I know some things can come up and I’m now informed of my options so I feel less anxiety about all of that.
I’ll be sure to have another of these updates around 38 weeks and of course a postpartum update! They’re kinda like little diaries for me to reflect back on later. In case you missed it, here’s my 27-week update.
