New year, new goals! It’s usually harder to keep our new year’s resolutions than watching a whole series on Netflix. I’m putting together a few resolutions that are practical and easy to keep.

It’s all about starting small and coming up with ones that are easy and within a reasonable budget. Let’s face it, we all want to lose weight and buy new clothes etc. But for most of us, that can be expensive. Gym memberships, shopping, eating organic, that can all add up and then we are discouraged and then yup we give up.

I like resolutions that are more than material or body related. Let’s start with the simple things. Life should be simple right? Lately I feel it’s so complicated and hectic. My days whizz by and my list gets longer. Not this year, this year I plan on taking it all in, enjoying little moments and not being so stressed out.

So here we go, here’s my 12 new year’s resolutions I’m sure you can keep! Here’s my list from last year.

12 Practical New Year’s Resolutions

  1. Drink more water. That’s it, simple.
  2. Floss. Every single day.
  3. Have more “me” time.
  4. Read a new book every month.
  5. Don’t be so hard on yourself.
  6. Give at least one compliment a day.
  7. Meditate.
  8. Make a new recipe once a week.
  9. Create a playlist for every occasion.
  10. Be more creative.
  11. Learn a new word everyday.
  12. Leave the negative behind in 2016.

So that’s it. Simple right? Just don’t rush into it and try to accomplish all 12 in a day. That won’t happen and you’ll just burn out. Ease into it by choosing one and focusing on that first. Like flossing, that’s an easy one to start. Plus your dentist will be very happy and less nagging for you involved.

What’s on your list? Anyone else make a new year’s resolutions? I want to hear yours.

Cheers to a new year, one that I hope is fantastic for each and every one of you!

  1. Great roundup lady! I totally agree with you on starting simple and easy!:) I like your idea of learning a new word every day! I like really focusing on 3-5 goals each month so that the following month it becomes a habit! This month I’m really focusing on stretching and meditating every night before bed- so far so good!;) Thanks for sharing your tips and list with us all!x- Mitra

  2. Love your list!! Such a reminder of so many things I need to incorporate back into my life. Meal planning is on my goals list this year. I like the idea of trying one new recipe a week to keep meals from getting too boring!

These are great! I have be kind to myself, try new things, manage my procrastination, and be more social! Phew. I don’t have a timeline for me to have completed these tasks though, baby steps are fine by me. I def need to drink more water, and I love learning a new word a day, it sounds fun Happy new year!
